Summary:
This Ammonia Refrigeration Technician, under direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of all refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment at the Seward, NE freeze dry facility.
This position may assist other maintenance team members in additional tasks and duties within that department.
Key
Responsibilities:
Assist with the inspections of air conditioning, dehumidifiers, compressors, evaporators, safety pop-off valves, filters, Ammonia refrigeration units daily; repairs malfunctions and assists with complete overhauls as needed, help maintain and check boilers.
Clean evaporators and condensers daily for correct operation of fans and glycol pumps.
Install and replace motors, pumps, switches, safety controls, solenoids, and fuses at all refrigeration areas; repairs and replaces improper fittings and broken refrigeration pipes.
Assist with setup and tear down of equipment and may assist with major repairs and/or construction required to plant buildings and stationary equipment, fabrication of parts, and installation of new plant equipment.
Perform basic refrigeration duties including but not limited to navigating through M&M controls, understanding and entering PSM data.
Ensures shops and repaired equipment areas are clean to prevent product contamination or damage.

years' experience in operation and maintenance of Ammonia Refrigeration systemsPrior food industry experience preferredRETA 2 certifications or able to be certified within 12 months of employmentHVAC experience with refrigerantsForklift operator experience desirableWelding and pipe fitting experience desirableHigh School or GED; Associates degree in industrial maintenance or similar field preferredPetsource is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
